As to your specific accusation, Mitt Romney is not projecting failure, he is outlining the situation and describing the dangers of what could happen if we did project failure by pulling out precipitously. The US invaded Iraq to build permanent military bases there. We're going to be in Iraq until the oil runs out, and we're going to deal w/ terrorism for decades to come b/c of it.
