Langfordc ::: Favorites You can easily disprove mormanism...it's completely false, created by a convicted criminal, originally based on racist and sexist beliefs with a Christian-spin to attempt legitimicy. I don't buy it... 07-07-21 04:05:50 _____________________________________________________
darthmills ::: Favorites you cant DISPROVE any religion. you may present some beliefs that are different than yours, but that doesnt disprove anything. on the same token, no religion can be PROVED by man. you cant prove Christianity by quoting the Bible. You cant prove islam by quoting the Quran. You certainly cannot prove or disprove religion by science. It is only by the assurance from the Holy Ghost that we may come to know that God is. It is by that same assurance that we many know that scripture is true. 07-07-21 09:53:16 _____________________________________________________
darthmills ::: Favorites Gospellightz, you are so right. on the same regard, Protestants were considered cults and blasphemous by the Catholic Church for a very long time after the Protestant Reformation. They were accused of going after "another gospel". It was only in this century that they even halfway bonded. However, the Pope recently re-condemned any church that is not Catholic. 07-07-21 09:58:50 _____________________________________________________
Langfordc ::: Favorites You're just spouting typical religious hypocrisy. "[religion] cannot be proved by man" and in the same breath you say "we many know that scripture is true." You can't have it both ways. I know you REALLY want it to be true...but REALLY REALLY wanting falsehoods to be true, doesn't make it reality, except in your own mind. There's a term for this, it's called Psychosis. 07-07-21 13:43:12 _____________________________________________________
Langfordc ::: Favorites dart - In a very weak sense, you are correct, I can't go back and prove that Joseph Smith started Mormonism - because he died in 1844. I can however, make an educated decision based on Joseph's criminal record, personal beliefs and writings that he started Mormonism with ulterior motives. So, it's very difficult for me to have any respect for anyone who chooses to believe in Mormonism -- and I sure as hell wouldn't want a Mormon running our country. GW has messed it up bad enough as it is... 07-07-21 13:52:32 _____________________________________________________
darthmills ::: Favorites i said religion cannot be proved by man. people either inherit belief from their parents and never question it - or they recieve personal revelation from God, through the Holy Ghost whether it is true or not. Joseph Smith was accused of many things, however he was never found guilty. if you really want to know what a mormon believes, a good place to start would be reading the Book of Mormon or attending a church service. 07-07-21 15:30:31 _____________________________________________________
jjones1987 ::: Favorites Also the charges brought against him were false, trumped up, pieces of legal garbage. Brought against him by people, like you, who didn't like the fact that this new religion was spreading like wildfire. The church was getting so many new converts that the leaders of the local mainstream Christian churches, drummed up hatred towards Mormons and did anything they could to stop it, including murdering Joseph Smith. 07-07-26 18:50:26 _____________________________________________________

Langfordc ::: Favorites jones -- Mormonism was NOT "spreading like wildfire" when Joseph was convicted and "people like me" could care less. I don't care if you choose to believe a "religion" started by a guy for personal reasons. You obviously aren't capable of thinking for yourself, but if it is what you need to feel better, that's great. However, I will never vote for a Mormon because it tells me he's a mindless idiot. Also, if the charges against Joseph Smith were trumped up, why did he later admit to it? 07-07-27 01:34:56 _____________________________________________________ |
