gryphern ::: Favorites The shape is set in place because I heat-formed it by dipping both the upper and lower muzzle into scalding water, then cooled them in the shape I wanted--it will never warp when it's heat set. To attach the shaped muzzle to the mask it's easy, just put hot glue on the foam and press it onto the craft store masquerade mask. I'm NOT in the industry but you'd have to know when the CG is pointless and you can get away with a mannequin, and also know who to go to and what materials are appropriate. gryphern ::: Favorites 3 Making small details with an airbrush requires special parts and practice. No fixing mistakes and application takes seconds, so you don't have time to think or adjust it as you go. Just don't use water with acrylic paint on fake fur, it won't be absorbed by the fake fur so it'll make the paint think and runny. You want to dry brush, meaning just use the straight paint from the bottle and work it into the brush a bit by painting the side of some plastic or glass so it won't go on too thick. 07-10-04 01:29:54 __________________________________________________
gryphern ::: Favorites I own an am fairly competent with my airbrush, and I've used it for painting fake fur before. But for little stuff a brush can be way better. There's just no need in some cases. 1 A paint brush doesn't make a fine, even coat of paint, so it can look less fake for certain applications. 2 If you want to highlight a tiny tuft of fur, you need the paint to go on thick.
