Added to favorites; these are GORGEOUS! Having never visited the Northland, having never seen the aurora borealis, you make my desire to see them that much more evident! Until then, I can see them in this beautiful video; thank you!

umm the northern lights are cuased when particles from space hit the earth magnetic field mixing them together makeing the white light that humans cant see visible colors that the human eyes can see and since its space and magnetic feild causing it/it makes it look like its comin from the ground when its not(sorry big science freak just trying to prove a point on scientific facts)

The northern lights in real time still move with some speed... it's quite visible... you can even see waves of particles impacting the atmosphere on really dark nights after a CME. They look like single ripples on a pond and move VERY fast. Washes over the entire sky in less than half a second.

I don't understand anything about the aurora and how it comes to be. All I know is that it is very beautiful.
