My opinion of RS is that its a video game programming marvel. The way Treasure figured out how to fully utilize the Saturn's hardware is an achievement in itself. There were very few games that made use of the Saturn's unique architecture. The only other game that made use of it was Shinrei Jusatsushi Taroumaru.

They were both made by Treasure, they both have chaining systems, and neither has "power-ups" per se (I think), but they play entirely differently.
