Description:
This video answers the age old question -- What is Szorít? Okay, maybe it isn't an age old question. Basically, I was letting my cousin's Erika's son play with my video camera while my other cousin gave Erika's husband a lesson in Hungarian - "szorít" (to tighten, to constrain) vs. szólit (call) . This is mostly just a silly home movie, but I thought some bilingual people would get a kick out of it. ___________________________ Visit www.shinygrape.com and select "American Goulash" for more Hungarian-American stories! |

mkondor ::: Favorites press, stress, grab, clench... all that kind of things. e.g. ([] == szorít) "where the shoe [pinches]" "to [clench] one's fist" but could also be used with "i cross my fingers for you to understand it" - "[szorít]ok neked, hogy megértsd" now you are one step closer. or one step off? :) 07-08-02 03:19:02 _____________________________________________________
mkondor ::: Favorites uhm. watching the video again, "szorít a melltartó" is correct too :P (melltartó - bra, a - the, szorít - szorít :D) and yes, "szólit" is a completely different word 07-08-02 03:22:51 _____________________________________________________
lotusdove ::: Favorites Only read this AFTER you watch the video: You know, my favorite thing is that the word "meltarto" basically translates to "breast-restrainer." I'm sure EVERY woman will agree then that the word "meltarto" is a much more adequate description of the torture device that we English-speakers simply refer to as a "bra." 07-08-02 11:37:49 _____________________________________________________ |
